About A Girl in Sweats

(Hey! That's me!)

The day I packed up my childhood bedroom and left for the big city, I never thought of the obstacles that I would soon face. No, all that went through my naive mind were the city lights and the smell of a new adventure. My mind was foggy from the excitement and my ears were shut from the waves of advice to wade through the Big Kid World. Since leaving home, I encountered all kinds of situations from financial to personal to academic. Life was bombarding me from all sides just like it does with everyone, including the fresh faces of college students. We never really understand the depth of the adult world until we are hysterically calling our mom with our latest problem. After calling my own mom countless times about one problem and the next, I decided to create a little blog that has a passion on helping those entering this wonderfully scary big world and thriving within it.

The goal for A Girl in Sweats has always been to benefit at least one person, which also becomes my reward, as selfish as it is. I struggled so hard the first couple of years of my adult life (still continuing but it's all apart of the fun, right?) that I want other new adults, or anyone who just need a couple pointers, to learn from my mistakes. But A Girl in Sweats has a fun side that includes my food obsession, a horrible beauty addiction, travel tips, etc. to appease many different interests from young to old and everything in between.

Along with this blog, I have created numerous Pinterest boards dedicated to assisting people in many different areas of their life with budget friendly recipes all the way to apartment hunting. I'm a huge Pinterest fanatic and will honestly spend WAY too much time on there each day to be inspired by fashion, travel destinations, and so many other loves. If you don't know what Pinterest is, then oh boy do we need to have a talk. It's the top visual search engine out there. You have millions of topics right at your fingertips and is absolutely beneficial to any aspect of your life!

I can't wait to talk to you and join you on the not-so-yellow-brick-road of life!
xo,
H.
