Mini Drugstore Haul!

To celebrate the "launch" of this blog, I did a little shopping spree at Target. I found out I lived really close to a Super Target and my happiness soared to a whole new level! I felt bad for my fiance (I dragged that poor man with me) and browsed every aisle in the beauty section for a whole hour! I went to Target looking for some products that I've been wanting to try out for awhile now or what the beauty world has been talking about. I love finding products that are great quality and a great price (I'm on a college budget. What can I say?!). This post will break down all of the products I got and my thoughts on the few I tried. Side note, I'm posting the pictures from the Target website so you can click on the picture to follow the link to get them yourselves. :)

Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer (light bronzer) $14.99
So this baby is one I've been eyeing for months but put it off because it's a little bit more than the average bronzer and let me tell you that it's completely worth it. First off, the smell is so amazing and pleasant but not overwhelming for people who are sensitive! It adds a nice color to your cheeks that is very enhancing and absolutely stunning. I wore it today and it blended beautifully and didn't look muddy on my skin. If you're looking for a solid bronzer, this is definitely a great option from the drugstore!
e.l.f. Small Tapered Brush $3.00
I have not tried this bush ever and I bought it last night to replace my normal contouring brush that was just getting old and it wasn't tapered. I tried this new brush out today and HOLY MOLEY it carved out my cheeks like a dream. I was amazed at how effortless it was to contour with the point and add bronzer with the side of the brush. It made all the hard parts of contouring easy and painless!

e.l.f. St. Lucia $3.99
I haven't tried these just yet but I REALLY loved the swatches. They're a lot darker in person and have a little shimmer but nothing crazy. The blush is beautiful for an every day use but the bronze shade is a color I would have to wear in the summer months when I'm a lot tanner. They were buttery and had a beautiful color to them! I'm so excited to try them in a couple of months!
e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in "Moonlight Pearls" $2.99
Okay, this one was definitely tricky for me to like. When I was first trying to get a swatch of it, there wasn't any pigment and I was really frustrated. I forgot it was a baked highlight and until I added water on my finger and then tried to get a swatch, I was ticked off. But once I figured it all out, I loved the soft highlight. It's definitely perfect for an every day highlight for work or school and it's not blinding whatsoever! It gave off a white gold color that was extremely pretty. It's one I'll have to work with a lot more to get the results I want so I'll let you know!
Wet n Wild Contouring Pallette in Dulce de Leche $4.99
This is another big hit on the internet. I was skeptical despite all the raving reviews since it was so cheap and from Wet n Wild that it would be patchy, not be my color, and other reasons but once I swatched it, I was taken back. The color was beautiful and neutral. It's a beautiful light brown with some warm tones but not too strong. It's buttery, pigmented, and so blendable! I'm so excited to try out the contouring shade! I tried the highlight portion on my forehead and below my cheekbones to clean up the bronzer a little bit and it cleaned it all up very well and made it all look very well blended!
Wet n Wild Coloricon blush in Pearlescent Pink $2.99
Wet n Wild makes some of my absolute favorite blushes! They're creamy, SOOO pigmented, and last all day long! I bought Mellow Wine a couple months because the color was absolutely perfect for the fall and winter and this shade, Pearlescent Pink, is absolutely perfect for spring and summer. It adds a long-lasting pop of color that looks so natural and is just absolutely stunning on the face. It's definitely all I'm going to wear all spring and summer!!
Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers Mascara $5.99
Okay, to be honest, I bought this because I loved the color of the mascara tube and that it was under $6. Of course, I bought it in black-brown but hey, at least I didn't get it in waterproof which is my most common mistake when buying mascara! I really like the look of the wand and am excited to try it for those natural feeling days but I definitely want to get the very black color for a little more intensity.

I also got this eyeliner pen (around $2) from E.l.f. but I can't find it on their website! I'm actually a huge fan of e.l.f.'s formula with their eyeliners. I've gone throw about six (no joke) with their liquid eyeliner products. But I've found after trying other eyeliner pens that the liquid eyeliner brush is flimsy and a lot harder to work with (honestly though, how did I do a winged eye all these years with that??)

I'm so excited about all of these products and to see what they've got! Lately, I've been really into trying new things and get out of my normal routine and see what else is out there. Leave any recommendations or what you want me to try out soon! :)
xo,
H.
