Why I'm Insistent Everyone Should Travel

Image
If you know me or have read a couple of my posts, you know I'm all about that traveling life. That's also why I don't understand anyone who doesn't feel the desire to travel (wanderlust). First off, my blood is a interesting mix of coffee, Mexican food, and wanderlust. Second, who doesn't feel crazy that there's a whole world out there brimming full of adventures, cultures, and experiences. You'll miss the best dance lessons in Brazil, learn about animals up close in Africa, and the colorful world in the Great Barrier Reef.  Don’t you want to visit the places that inspired musicians, artists, and authors? Meet   " Travel not to escape life but so life doesn't escape you ." -Unknown   A wonderful reason for traveling is you discover little pieces of yourself that you wouldn't normally find out in your everyday life. You could discover you love dancing at a dancing club in Greece or discover your inner adrenaline junkie wh...

30 Things Before 30

Image
"We all have two choices; we can make a living or we can design a life." -Jim Rohn     As a young nineteen year old, I have plenty I want to do with my life. Lots of traveling, laughter, and happiness! That's the dream, right? I figured I'll give you a (small) list of  what I'd like to do before I hit the golden age of thirty.        Thirty Things Before Thirty Live in a foreign country for a year. Zip line through the Costa Rican trees. Go on the creepiest ghost tour in Europe. (comment if you've been on one!) Have tea in London. Have coffee in my favorite coffee bean originating countries. (Venezuela, Costa Rica, Brazil, etc.) Climb to Machu Picchu. Visit Aztec ruins. Gaze at Northern lights. (literally happy to go anywhere that they show up at) Read a book from every genre. Swim in an underwater cave. Meet any one of my favorite authors. (Rowling, Clare, King, anyone?) Learn to cook a family recipe from an intern...

Conquering Your Apartment Search

Image
Hey, you! Welcome back! As the days are getting warmer, people are coming out to search for a new home. In Denver, where I live, we have thousands of apartment complexes among other housing styles (townhouses, actual houses, etc) and we're known for our expensive market. To put it into perspective, a one bedroom apartment on average is $1380 and a two bedroom apartment on average is $1765 (according to  Rent Jungle ). It's nothing like New York City or other expensive cities but still pretty high. With that in mind, it's always an adventure to find a new home. I work in this industry and found that some of the most essential questions aren't asked. So, I've compiled all of my best tips and questions that you really do need to ask when you're on the hunt. Whether you're getting your first apartment or looking for the next, these will save you all the hassle later. Tips to Crush Apartment Hunting Ask what's included in the rent. Most complex...

Hello. Again.

If you're reading this now, I applaud you. I've been away from blogging (and social media) for nearly two months now and the fact that you're reading this now gives me a fuzzy feeling so here's a virtual hug! I don't have any excuse other than life got hard. Like really hard. It mainly had to do with my job (I want to tell why as well but that's a story for another day) and some personal issues. But while I wasn't writing, I felt as though I shut away the best part of myself. I love writing and the euphoric feeling it brings me. It was the best form of therapy until even that didn't work good for me. I began putting so much  stress on myself on perfecting this blog that I forgot how much I enjoy connecting with you and the feeling of writing out my thoughts. I lost sight of what was important and prioritized the wrong things. I put myself in a tiny little box and only thought I could write about make-up, beauty, and fashion. Yes, that's what this b...

Five Product Face

Image
With work being so crazy lately, I've been sleeping in a little too late every single morning.  Oops. With only ten minutes to turn me into a living person, I've needed all the help I can get with the make-up routine. I found products that I tend to grab in times of rush since I know I can depend on them on my long days at work. It's great to have a quick routine when you don't have any time to get ready (am I right, moms?!).    These products are completely drugstore and work beautifully! These are a constant in my daily routine or when I'm going for some errands. My face feels lightweight and have a natural finish. If you tend to want a quick routine or a good amount of coverage without layering coverage, then get them right now. Like now.    Some links in this post contain affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on my link. Maybelline FitMe! Three High-End Palettes You Need

Image
Don't get me wrong, I love drugstore products like the next person. Especially great quality drugstore make-up. Within the high-end world, you can find great products that are great for every day use and worth the money. Buying high-end make-up does get so expensive (duh) and you want to buy stuff worth your cash. I want to start out with eye shadow palettes because its my favorite department of the make-up industry and I'm so picky about what I buy. The palettes I'm listing in this post will be the most ideal for every day uses and ones I'll definitely be repurchasing and use every single day. I use at least one daily for work, parties, and every other type of day. Each have a great range of colors suitable for any eye color. There are many, many, many palettes out in the world but these are the ones that I've been using for months/years and am happy to recommend. The Foundation That Revolutionized My Life

Image
Guys, I have found my new ride-or-die foundation. No joke. This stuff has become my new obsession and has absolutely  blown my mind. Mini back story: for year I've struggled with terrible skin and needing an affordable full-coverage foundation. I've tried about every drugstore full coverage out there but couldn't find out I'd even talk about. I was looking at high end foundations that day I bought my new fave foundation (a few more seconds, so quiet drum roll please) because I was that desperate. The drugstore foundations I tried didn't have my undertone, looked cakey, and/or didn't cover very well. It's been a real struggle for many years!  The product I finally purchased was the  L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Total Cover  ($10.99) and oh my lord it has become my life!   This amazing bottle of magic has blown me out of the waters. It's completely light weight and is completely natural looking. It looked like my own skin with none of my disc...
